Vintage Sterling Silver Concho Belt

In the 1970s a collective of silver smiths resided at the Mable Dodge house in Taos, New Mexico. Their specialty was the creation of concho belts using coin silver and ingot sterling silver. They intentionally revived this early art form from the Navajos of an earlier era. Although Anglo their work product was at the top of southwestern style. Made from old fifty cent silver coins the conchos still reveal their serrated edges. The buckle is poured ingot. Fitting through belt loops the belt can be casually worn every day. https://www.turquoisedirect.co....m/product/vintage-st
